So you have questions, that's normal!

What Tapes We Do

We can handle nearly any tape format. Regardless of whether your tape is NTSC or PAL, consumer-grade or professional, we have the capability to transfer it. While our most frequent requests include VHS, VHS-C, S-VHS, Hi-8, Video8, Digital 8, and MiniDV formats, our expertise extends to broadcast-quality tapes such as Betacam & Umatic, and even ‘obsolete’ formats like Betamax.

All Essential Elements for Delivering a High-Quality Outcome

We treat every tape transfer with meticulous care and attention, striving to achieve the finest quality for you.
Every tape undergoes an initial inspection and swift cleaning before meticulous playbacks from start to finish, ensuring seamless operation. Should additional care be needed, we perform further conditioning attempts until optimal playback is achieved. Repair services are available, albeit with a nominal fee, if necessary. Subsequently, all tapes are encoded into the MP4 format and prepared for delivery in your preferred format.

Ensuring Excellence Is Our Primary Focus Throughout the Process

Interested in our production process? We’re thrilled to share! We employ a blend of premium vintage playback equipment and our in-house developed digitization hardware. All data is processed through dedicated PC hardware to generate your digital files.
Once these files are created, they’re either directly encoded for Classic orders or passed through our exclusive software suite for our Premium transfers. The final product is then crafted onto your chosen deliverable and undergoes meticulous quality checks to guarantee flawless results.

How It Works

Upon receiving your tapes, we initiate a thorough inspection to ensure all expected items are present, placing a non-damaging tag for each one of these items for seamless tracking throughout the entire transfer process.
Following this, we embark on the transfer process, creating a digital format of your tapes. Those opting for our Premium service benefit from an extra step involving the enhancement of each tape through a combination of software and manual techniques.
After the initial tape transfer and enhancement phase, we proceed to craft the chosen return option for your order. If you’ve selected cloud access, your memories will be uploaded to the platform. Additionally, any ordered USB or DVD drives are promptly generated.

What Audio Formats Do We Work On

We have the capability to transfer nearly every consumer format, encompassing cassette tapes, micro cassettes, audio reels, and vinyl records.

What's Included With Audio Services

Before initiating the capture process, each piece of media undergoes a preparation phase, which involves cleaning and reconditioning to enhance the final product. While comprehensive repairs are available, they may incur an additional charge. Following this, specific audio capture setups are utilized for different types of audio media. The assigned technician ensures meticulous preparation for these rigs. For those choosing Premium Transfers, the technician actively monitors and adjusts all parameters during the transfer to achieve the optimal outcome.

How Do I Estimate My Film Footage

Calculating film footage becomes straightforward once you measure the diameter of your reels. Organize your film reels by size and measure them, commonly available in 3-inch, 4-inch, 5-inch, and 7-inch sizes. Simply tally the quantity of each size.
Our order form is designed to seamlessly incorporate these counts, automatically providing an estimate of your total footage. It’s important to note that as the reel size increases, the overall length of the footage expands.

What Video Formats Do We Work On

We accept Super 8, 8mm, and 16mm films for transfers. In case your film includes an audio track, we will make an effort to capture it. However, it’s worth noting that audio tracks on film reels often experience faster degradation compared to the visual quality.

What's Included In My Film Transfer

As many film reels may not be in optimal condition, each undergoes a thorough cleaning and reconditioning before we begin the transfer process. Our dedicated technicians employ various techniques, such as dehydrating and hand conditioning, to ensure the film’s flexibility for smooth machine feeding.
This preparatory phase involves essential cleaning and any necessary actions to guarantee an effective capture. Subsequently, each capture takes place on our exclusive transfer system, closely monitored by our technicians throughout the entire process. Any necessary adjustments are made as required.
In instances where a reel needs significant repair or footage removal for successful capture, our technicians utilize various techniques. However, please be aware that such extensive repairs may incur an additional charge per reel.

How Does It Work

After placing your order, we’ll send you a package along with a return shipping label. Simply pack your cherished memories and send them back to us. Once your project is finished, we’ll promptly ship everything back to you.

How can I determine if my film is still suitable for capture

Regrettably, among the various media types we handle, film exhibits the widest range of outcomes due to its susceptibility to degradation. Consequently, there are instances where certain films cannot be successfully captured. As a general guideline, if a film cannot be threaded through a projector, it is not suitable for capture.
Key indicators to assess in your film reels include their pliability. To be compatible with a projector, the film must maintain its flexibility, so ensure that it can be easily manipulated. Additionally, be attentive to any unusual odors. Foul smells emitted by the film often signal chemical breakdown, negatively impacting picture quality and, in severe cases, rendering the film too fragile for successful capture.

Which Formarts Are Eligible For Scanning

We have the capability to scan nearly every consumer format, encompassing individual photo prints, prints within albums, 35mm slides, and negatives. We’re also equipped to scan unconventional items that may not neatly fit into any of those categories.

How To Ship Slides

When shipping your slides, we suggest removing them from the carousels. The added weight and size can complicate box fitting and significantly increase shipping costs. Instead, place the slides in a folder or envelope for more efficient and cost-effective shipping.

What To Do When Dealing With a Large Quantity of Photos

To start, there’s no need to stress about pinpoint accuracy in your estimate. Our team will ensure a precise count by the completion of your order.
For loose photos, a convenient way to estimate is by measuring stacks – typically, 1″ of loose photos equals about 100 photos. With albums, calculate photos per page multiplied by the number of pages. Slides are generally straightforward to estimate, while for negatives, consider the number of photos per strip multiplied by the number of strips.
Upon order completion, you may either need to cover the difference between the estimate and the actual count or receive a credit from us if the order has been overestimated.

How Does It Work

Upon receiving your photos, we initiate a thorough inspection to ensure all expected items are present, placing a non-damaging tag on each one for seamless tracking throughout the entire transfer process.
Following this, our skilled technicians embark on the scanning process, creating high-resolution digital files of your photos. Those opting for our Premium service benefit from an extra step involving the enhancement of each photo through a combination of software and manual techniques.
After the initial scanning and enhancement phase, we proceed to craft the chosen return option for your order. If you’ve selected cloud access, your memories will be uploaded to the platform. Additionally, any ordered USB or DVD drives are promptly generated.
